I am directed by the Board of Trade to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of the 6th instant, transmitting for their observations a copy of an Ordinance passed in the Colony of Hong Kong amending Ordinance No. 14 of 1862 "Patents for Inventions", and in reply to state, for the information of Lord Knutsford, that, in the opinion of the Board of Trade, the reference in Section 1 of the Ordinance of 1889 to the Patents Designs and Trade Marks Act 1883, should read 1883 to 1888.
